FAQs
How does Mobilize work?
Mobilize follows the contract staffing model and is the employer of record. We handle all associated requirements and costs.
How are placement partners selected?
Placement partners are chosen based on their commitment to the program, business culture, ability to train and current staffing requirements.
Why was Mobilize created?
Mobilize Jobs was created by adapting two national problems into one solution. Changes to foreign recruitment programs has left regional and industry-specific labor shortages nationwide, leaving us with a complex recruitment landscape. In addition, high levels of youth unemployment exist in pockets nationwide.
However, getting permanent staff from across the country is not likely to occur quickly – for many reasons. For example, a 22-year-old from West Virginia is not likely to jump on a bus and make a permanent commitment to any one employer, without having experienced that part of the country first. So we got creative and found a way to motivate this young demographic.
After completing comprehensive focus groups with young Millennials on what it would take to move across the country to take entry level positions, we learned the following:
- The experience would need to be exciting.
- The experience would need to be educational.
- The experience would need to provide the opportunity for career advancement.
- The experience would need to be structured, with a start and end date.
- The experience (not the job) would need to be extremely easy without the need to locate housing or interview at every stage.
So after compiling all of that information we created Mobilize.
Mobilize’s recruitment model specifically targets this audience. We deliver a continuous source of enthusiastic workers from all corners of the country to fill your vacant positions when and where you need them.
Why are Mobilize placements only seasonal and not longer for each worker?
At Mobilize we know from experience that the best way to attract energetic, motivated, and positive youth is to give them what they want! Mobilize participants are powered by excitement, are high energy and have a thirst to travel. The seasonal length of placements is enough time for participants to remain excited about a new city and job, but not enough time to for them to burn out.
Why do I need to train workers when they are gone at the end of the season?
Remember, not all of your hires will be on their first placement. Some will be coming from other locations where you can benefit from their skills and training. Most of our Mobilizers are coming from the hospitality, restaurant, or retail industries – where they already have a passion to work hard and travel, coupled with a thirst to learn about new companies and jobs.
Why do I need to provide housing?
Staff housing options are getting harder and harder to locate, especially in remote or resort settings. With today’s rising real estate costs and the increased popularity of short term rentals like VRBO and Airbnb, finding a seasonal place to live is becoming next to impossible for young workers. It is up to us as an industry to remove as many obstacles for young people entering our businesses as possible. Providing staff accommodation creates loyalty and showcases to your employees how much you value them. Most housing we see through our placement partners are shared college-style accommodations, and when broken down to the hourly cost it is one of the most affordable perks employers can offer today!
